Mother
a poem for today
You, you are mother.
Your luscious dream of ripples and rhythm, the splash and the breath of life gifting cool and warm to our skin and tongue: Aqua, Water, Agua, Eau, Tirta
You my love, your pungent sweet smell of minerals, rock, life upon life. The bed from which sleeping seeds rise into magnificence; your ever abundant show stopping magic: Terra, Earth, Tierra, Terre, Dewi Partiwi
You, keeper of the dancing secrets, holder of the silence in the collective knowing, the one that is many and all that is one. Bringer of the unseen, gently kissing our cheeks and gracing our throats as we take in the miracle of the leaves you flutter: Aria, Air, Aire, L’air, Udra.
And you. The igniter of vision and desire. The wind on which our creativity and collaboration dances and grows. Your warmth and spark fueled by the essence of life itself: Fuoco, Fire, Fuego, Feu, Api.
Mother.
Thank you for all you bring to each of us, your caring trust of our ever evolving mission to become and for holding us in all our phases of belonging.
Thank you.
I love you.
We love you.

I awoke this morning with this poem wanting to be born as a gift to our mother, and to you. May we all remember the mother we are, that we see in each other and in all of life.
Love,
